I had the opportunity earlier this year to work with fitness model Ethan Maxwell Landry (a.k.a. Eh Moo La) a couple of times when he traveled to New York City from his home in Chicago. You can’t tell it from his photographs, but Ethan (a.k.a. Moo) is a rather private and shy person. Recently, New [...]
I had the pleasure of working with Orlando-based model Sergio Chang over the first weekend of April. We met in Cocoa Beach, Florida to concentrate on beach shoots to show off his hard work on his body. Sergio has been hitting the gym hard since last fall. With the help of a trainer/nutritionist, his hard [...]
From my February shoot with fitness model and all-around nice guy Tanner Randall… To see more of my work with Tanner… check out Tanner’s Gallery in my image archive.
November 6 2011 update below… A very wise man at KAKE-TV named Larry Hatteberg once told me to ‘bank on the small successes’. Seeing one of my photos on young actor Trevor Teichmann’s IMDb page this week made me smile. A small success on the road to something bigger. Trevor’s Mom let me know that [...]
I shot with Greg Johnson from Colby Models recently. It was honestly one of the best shoots I’ve done in the five years I’ve been shooting with models. Greg walked in the studio. We chatted about the concepts a bit and then we started shooting. From the first frame, he absolutely nailed it pose after [...]
Brazilian fitness model Paulo Grillo recently booked a gig with the underwear sales site Undergear and photographer Duc Nguyen. Paulo is now featured in the current Valentine’s Day Undergear email campaign. Paulo and I shot together recently to update his portfolio. Great guy to work with. Paulo made the collaboration very fun by actively participating [...]
I worked with the very talented Oleksandr Reheylo, a.k.a. Alex, in November to update his portfolio. It was a fantastic photo shoot and we came up with several great shots. See below. Alex posted on his Facebook this week that he was booked by MTV to model on the show “The Seven” in a fashion [...]
Had a ‘dee-lightful’ photo shoot with Dee Whitter earlier this week. Dee was awesome to work with. Extremely professional with great input into the creative process. Here are some of the images we created together…
Portfolio – Michael Huitt Photography from Michael Huitt on Vimeo. An updated portfolio video of my portraits created on Animoto.com.
Aiden Dhaval from Michael Huitt on Vimeo. Aiden grew up in Vermont and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in Florida. I’ve shot with Aiden several times over the past couple of years. This video highlights some of the work we’ve done together.
After five fantastic photo shoots this summer with him… I think I can truly call this The Summer of Aiden Dhaval… and it was a hot one! Aiden and I first met through Model Mayhem back in 2008 when we did our ‘paint’ series shoot. We instantly clicked and have been good friends ever [...]

I’ve done three shoots over the past few months with Paul Bermudez, a model represented by the Ford Modeling Agency. All three shoots were a lot of fun. Paul is very easy-going and great to work with. He’s always contributing ideas to the shoot. He’s not only a great model to shoot… but has become [...]
I’ve had the Alien Bee ABR800 ringflash for a while now, but had never really used it until this past month. It takes a little getting used to, but I’m liking the results so far. Two of the most recent experiments… Comments, suggestions welcome. – Post From My iPhone
Had a great shoot today with Joe Lee. He’s hoping to shop around to agencies this week in New York.
A few additional shots from the most recent shoot with Karim… – Posted From My iPhone
nelsonOriginally uploaded Sept. ’07 by michaelnyc antonioOriginally uploaded Feb. ’09 by michaelnyc I was updating the photos on my photo wall the other day with some more recent images. I had inadvertently put two shots of Nelson Antonio next to each other. It was great to see the growth in his posing and look. The [...]
I had a wonderful shoot this past weekend with Karim. This was the fourth time that Karim and I have shot together. We really ‘clicked’ on this shoot. He had been hitting the gym hard since the last time we shot in September, so he was feeling confident about the new and improved body. That [...]
perry, originally uploaded by michaelnyc. In the last month, I’ve photographed two students from Georgetown University in Washington DC. Purely coincidence, they don’t know each other and contacted me separately to shoot. Perry (above) is in his final semester before receiving his Masters Degree. kevin, originally uploaded by michaelnyc. Kevin is a senior at Georgetown [...]
This photo was shot a couple of days ago along the Hudson River. Christian had just bought some new sunglasses at the Columbus Avenue street fair. Seemed like a good use of my new iPhone’s 2.0 megapixel camera. I think it showed off the sunset reflection fairly well. — Posted from my iPhone
This past weekend was busy with three shoots and a go-see test shoot. I was very pleased with the images that we created. Friday was Dominic… Saturday was Karim… Sunday was Alexander… And Monday was a test shoot with Jay… Now I have a lot of editing and retouching to do. Wish me luck! .
I had a test shoot earlier tonight with a guy named Lorenzo Jimenez. He had contacted me by email after seeing my photographs somewhere. This was one of the test shots… Needless to say, Lorenzo and I will be doing a shoot in the near future. Hopefully this Sunday.
Christian, originally uploaded by michaelnyc. I think the image speaks for itself!
Alaink … from our September 3rd shoot I worked with some amazing models this holiday weekend. I don’t quite believe it myself, but I think I shot over 4,500 photos this weekend. On Monday, I shot for nearly nine hours straight. And I loved every minute of it. Now I just have a hell of [...]
